| I was riding a bicycle from my office to get to my training class which was clear across campus. It was early morning and the water sprinklers were turned on which created many puddles. I rode through those puddles for fun. Unfortunately, I did not realize the consequences. Another rider came up from behind me and told me that I had a streak of mud running up my back. What made this worse was that I was wearing my nice white Nordstrom dress shirt. Shucks. |

| I witnessed road rage recently. A motorcyclist was following a Corvette rather closely. The Corvette stopped suddenly and the motorcyclist almost rearended the Corvette. The motorcycle skidded and the rider fell off the bike. By the time the biker picked up his bike, the Corvette had taken off. The biker must have thought the Corvette stopped short and was upset because he chased after the Corvette and eventually caught up at a red light. I could see the biker was yelling obscenities and motioning to the car to pull over. The people in the Corvette seemed surprised. The Corvette did not pull over and tried to drive away. I saw the motorcyclist chase after it. I don't know what happened next because they both sped off. yikes! I get upset at other drivers too, but isn't that going overboard? I learned today in 1 Thes 5:13 and the verses following to "live in peace with each other", encourage, help the weak, be patient, be joyful, pray continually, and give thanks. All good instructions to live by. | | |
| It’s been a busy month spending most of it in 3 cities…Baltimore and Orlando for business and Hawaii on vacation. I’ve been blessed meeting so many new people along the way and experiencing new things. I tried soft shell blue crab for the first time while in Baltimore. It was unusual and crunchy, but tasty. The inner harbor was bustling with new developments and I could see Camden Yards from my hotel. I’d love to go back again. Nora’s dad celebrated his 80th bday, so 30 of us (family and friends) traveled to the big island together. The first stop after we landed was Costco (of course) to stock up the houses we rented. Snorkeling was fun and I tried to take some underwater pics but my camera jammed. I loved snorkeling with the spinning dolphins and seeing the cool black sand beaches. The sunsets were gorgeous and the scenery was beautiful. I just wish the mosquitoes didn’t like me so much. I enjoyed eating at Ken’s Pancakes in Hilo and we worshiped at Calvary Chapel. They had to add extra chairs to accommodate our group. We tried the malasadas from Tex’s and Chris’ bakery, but neither were as good as the ones at Leonard’s on Oahu. It was great just hanging out with family. While in Orlando, I stayed an extra day to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom. It definitely was not as fun without my family. I kept pulling out my phone while in line and gazed at my pictures of N, S, B and J. How sad was that? Anyways, I enjoyed the rides and shows. The Everest ride was really fast and wild. I had the added benefit of riding it during the pouring rain. Rain drops at 55 mph hurt! Go if you have the chance. | | |
| Yosemite is an amazing place, so full of peace and beauty. I went with a group of friends and hiked Half Dome. In 10 hours we went hiked about 17 miles. We went up 4800 feet and down 4800 feet. How was it? Fun, strenuous, and painful are what come to mind. My leg cramped up half way up the cables, but thank God I made it.
